Why I Created My ‘Amidst Colour’ Note Cards: The Art of Thoughtfulness.
In a world where most of our connections happen through a screen, I wanted to create something that felt more personal, something that slows us down and brings back the beauty of a handwritten message.
I’ve always loved giving cards, especially for birthdays or special occasions. But it feels like that doesn’t happen as often anymore. I wanted to bring that feeling back, and in a way that doesn’t need a reason or event. That’s how my ‘Amidst Colour’ Note Cards were born.
There’s something timeless about choosing a card, writing a message, and knowing that the person receiving it will hold it in their hands, a physical reminder that someone thought of them. But I started to wonder: why do we wait for birthdays, holidays, or big milestones to send a card?
Sometimes the most meaningful moments come from simply saying, “I’m thinking of you.” Not through a text or emoji, but through something you can touch and keep. It shows someone you care, that you truly appreciate them, and I think that feeling is often missed in the rush of everyday life.
Each note card features a photograph from my Tulip Series, titled Amidst Colour, a collection inspired by quiet beauty, gentle light, and the fleeting nature of time. The tulips represent thoughtfulness, renewal, and grace, qualities that perfectly capture what I hope these cards express.
They’re printed on beautiful matte cardstock, with my original photograph on the front and space on the back for your handwritten message. I designed them to reflect the same aesthetic and feeling as my photography, calm, heartfelt, and full of wonder. Whether it’s a note of encouragement, love, or gratitude, these cards are meant to be shared, or even framed as a little piece of art.
A handwritten card feels different. It carries warmth, sincerity, and intention. It tells someone, you matter enough for me to take the time.
So next time you think of someone, don’t just send a message, send a moment. A note card that speaks from the heart.
These note cards are coming soon!
